13JAN2011 Accumulation 0: Recovery from 4" Snowpocalypse

Basic Blue Trashcan with No Lid
Dangerous cone restrained behind fence
.

Tall wooden counter stool in a sea of plastic cans and cones.

Close up of the Counter Stool.
I wonder if it swivels.

Unassuming Plastic Folding Chair with Nifty Handle

Back shot.  Excuse me, your tag is showing.

Pensive Chair.  This shot feels artsy.
In a chair-sitting-in-the-street-on-dirty-snow kind of way.

The following time lapse photography displays the care that sometimes goes into presentation of street crap:

8:15 AM:  symmetrical barstools aside orange cone

1:30PM:  a vastly improved and wholly symmetrical presentation of aforementioned items
.
Disrespecting the Street Crap.

Pushin' it.
No. Respect. At. All.

12JAN2011 Accumulation: 4 inches

Wilmington actually got measurable snow last night!  Weatherfolk called for 4 - 8 inches, so we got 4.  With the Snowpocalypse upon us, the streets were strewn with crap!  Strewn, I tell you!!

A small child's wooden rocking chair.

Two meticulously placed and now water damaged wooden chairs.

Close up of one of the meticulously placed and now water damaged wooden chairs.
Given a nice cushion, I would be tempted to abscond with it and its sister chair.

Short brown trashcan with lid.  Powerful in its simplicity.

Clockwise from left, Recycle Bin, Dual Cones, Lone Cone, and Broken Heart Chair.

Close-up:  the Broken Heart Chair, slightly unstable.
Double meanings abound.

Close-up:  the Recycle Bin.
Recycling day is Monday.  Today is Wednesday.  No excuses.

Close-up:  the Dual Cones and the Lone Cone.
They would have been jealous if everyone else in the shot got a close up and they didn't.

A Pleather Chair.
Yes, Pleather.

Green plastic chair face-down.
Much like hanging plastic bags and rags out of the window of a broken down car on the side of the road makes one immune to parking tickets or towing (within reason), placing this chair face-down in the street says, "Hey, don't be upset with me.  I didn't put this chair here because I WANTED to!"

The rare and lovely powder-blue folding chair.

HOMER BUCKET!!

The final discovery of the day was contributed by Jim.  Observe it with great awe and wonder.

Want a close-up?  Here ya go:

Yes.  It is indeed a potted plant.

11JAN2011 Total Accumulation: 0. Snow is Predicted for early evening.

8:15am.  Snow is predicted for tonight, but one can never be too early or too prepared.
Spiffy Big Backed, Matching Folding, and Dark Plastic chairs.

A closer view of the spiffy looking big backed chair with wheels.

Two White Plastic Chairs Facing Opposing Directions.  In sepia.  Artsy.

4:30pm:  Haphazardly Strewn and Terribly Unloved Metal and Vinyl Chair.
It made me feel sad.

 Nice wooden Adirondack chair.
I may have to go back for this one.

10JAN2011 Total Accumulation: 0. No snow since the 1 inch 08Jan2011

Pair of Matching Folding Chairs, Slightly Askew.

Note:  Couldn't take the time to clear the sidewalk, but furnishing the street?  Yep.

08Jan2011. Accumulation: 1 inch

The Trifecta: standard size white plastic chair, child's red plastic chair, and a cone.

A 4 star effort.

08Jan2011. Accumulation: 1 inch

Note: prior day's snow had melted away.

Broken chair aka Trash.

07Jan2011. Total accumulation in Wilmington: < 1 inch.

White plastic chairs (one with cushions) vs stolen cones.
I find the cones more aesthetically pleasing.
